So I'm turning 21 in about a month (March 1) and I'm trying to decide what exactly I want to do for my birthday. It's conveniently over Spring Break also... Should I go to Vegas with a chance that not very many people I invite will be able to come? Or should I do something like LA, Palm Springs or San Diego where I can have a bigger group of friends then plan a Vegas trip later? I don't know if this will help my decision at all but any input will help.

Imagine two people, X and Y, in a relationship. Scenario 1. X and Y are shopping at the supermarket and at one point X chooses a personal use object (epilator, razor, toothbrush, etc.). Y offers to pay for the object saying that it's X's birthday in a week and that is the present. Scenario 2. Y plans a surprise for X's birthday. When the day comes Y gives X the birthday present.
