Your child is offered drugs by a friend at school. Your child declines, but decides to call their friend's parents to let them know they are worried and that they were offered drugs. She tells you.

You flip out - get angry with your kid and tell him/her that they are way out of line. You believw it was not their place to get involved and that they are is sticking their nose in other people's business - it is not the child's place to narc the friend

You praise your child for their courage and honesty. You tell them that you are proud of them for not only not taking the drugs but for caring enough about their friend to tell and adult.
